I've read enough, Return to Hurricane Johnson Main Page
Hurricane Johnson has been providing top quality entertainment approaching 17 years. Entertaining folks from Richmond, the Northern Neck and Northern Virginia. The original players are Hurricane Johnson, Azul, and Eddie 2000. A change in personnel occurred in 2001 with the departure of Eddie. Azul departed in 2009 to spend more travel time on his Suzuki 50cc scooter. Brother Paul stepped in as bassist. Later, after a rehearsal that lasted 2 years, Chocolate stepped in to do "the rhythm thang".
With over 500 performances, Hurricane Johnson has endured change but always committed to providing quality "live" entertainment.
Yes it is! Hurricane was born during this country's most violent and destructive hurricane. His Mama, Miss Johnson, not sure if he would even survive, decided to name him after the storm. However, not knowing the actual name of the storm, she called him Hurricane. Hurricane has not had it easy growing up with that name. Other children would often tease him and call him "Tornado", "Cyclone", "Bob" and "Typhoon". His endurance to these personal attacks hardened him and made him one of the guitar players of our time.
Yes. Every band has either a bassist or drummer named "Chocolate". We have one, too it appears.
Brother Paul hails from the quad-cities, tri-county area. While not actually "afraid" of playing the root, Brother Paul uniquely approaches the low-end spectrum combining such musical styles as rock, jazz, afro-cuban funk, country, bluegrass, polka, soft acoustic rock, ambient, house, rap, classic R&B, new R&B, 80's hair band, metal, jam-band, Adult Contemporary, gospel, Christmas, blues, and.......of course....klezmer.
Eddie 2000 has successfully mastered a variety of instruments including guitar, bass, harmonica, piano, and Moog synthesizer. Eddie has consistently placed in the top 10 of the annual Madison County, VA Moog competition in the east-of-route 29 region. Eddie specializes in the Moog pitch wheel and manipulates it like no other. A well known music publication has described his style as "a little bit Jerry Lee Lewis, and a little bit Keith Emerson".
This information is classified, but the short answer is "not often". As you're probably aware Hurricane Johnson has developed a dynamic style of aggressive guitar licks intertwined with tight rhythm progressions that parallel no other group. This brand of aggressive performance is unique to the HJ Project. It's evolved through years of performing live entertainment.

Yes there is. Fashion historians trace the thongs' first public U.S. appearance to the 1939 World's Fair when New York Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia mandated that the city's nude dancers cover themselves. Fashion designer, Rudi Gernreich has been credited with introducing the first thong bikini in 1974. The Hurricane Johnson Classic Thong is an exact replica of the original thong, with one exception, the Classic Thong is adorned with the Hurricane Johnson logo. Please visit SHOP JOHNSON to purchase your Classic Thong today. The male Speedo is not yet available.
Here is a list of favorite undergarment:
Classic THONG: Has a thin strip waistband, some coverage.
G-STRING: Smallest coverage. No waistband, just string.
2/3 or 1/3 BACK TANGA: Most coverage of all; but less coverage than
traditional bikini.
V-STRING: More coverage than the G-string, has "V" shape in back.
T-BACK: Has "T" shape in back.
RIO: Opposite of the T-back; but raises up on sides rather than going
straight across.
All of them. Hurricane Johnson is proud to perform at any club that enjoys it's unique style of entertainment. The success of the club comes from the folks who work the room. Wait staff and bartenders make the club. Hurricane Johnson is just the catalyst for the party to happen. As soon as the lights go down and the music starts the magic erupts. Hurricane Johnson has many favorite clubs.
